INTRODUCTION
Betsey: In each lesson of this 25 part series, you'll master a common question for Polish learners, and then learn how to answer it like a native. You'll learn how these key phrases work by breaking them down into each component. Then through repetition and new vocabulary, you'll expand your understanding of the question, its answers, and any variations.

Betsey: In this lesson, you'll learn how to respond to the common question What time is it? In Polish this is
Joanna: Która jest godzina?
Betsey: The first word in the question is
Joanna: która
Betsey: meaning “which” in English.
Joanna: (Slow, by syllable) która
Betsey: Listen again and repeat.
Joanna: która
{Pause}
Betsey: This pattern of first introducing a word at natural speed, providing the translation, breaking it down, and then giving it again at natural speed will be repeated throughout the series. Try to speak aloud as often as possible. The next word in the question is
Joanna: jest
Betsey: meaning “is”.
Joanna: (Slow, by syllable) jest
Betsey: Now repeat.
Joanna: jest

Betsey: Next is
Joanna: godzina
Betsey: meaning time .
Joanna: (Slow, by syllable) godzina

Betsey: meaning “it is.”
Joanna: (Slow, by syllable) jest
Betsey: Now repeat
Joanna: jest

Joanna: dwunasta
meaning 12 o'clock.
Joanna: (Slow, by syllable) dwunasta
Betsey:Now repeat.
Joanna: dwunasta

Betsey: Listen to the speaker say, It's 12 o'clock., and then repeat.
Joanna: Jest dwunasta.

Betsey: To make another phrase, replace 12 o'clock with 2 o'clock.
Joanna: druga
Betsey: 2 o'clock
Joanna: (slow) druga (regular) druga
Betsey: Listen to the phrase again, this time with 2 o'clock
Joanna: Jest druga.
Betsey: It mostly stays the same. Simply replace 12 o'clock. Say It's 2 o'clock.

Betsey: To use a different phrase, replace 2 o'clock with 4 o'clock.
Joanna: czwarta
Betsey: 4 o'clock
Joanna: (slow) czwarta (regular) czwarta
Betsey: Listen to the phrase again, this time with 4 o'clock
Joanna: Jest czwarta.
Betsey: It mostly stays the same. Simply replace 2 o'clock with 4 o’clock. Say It's 4 o'clock.

Betsey: To expand on the pattern, replace 4 o'clock with 6 o'clock.

Betsey: 6 o'clock

Betsey: Listen to the phrase again, this time with 6 o'clock
Joanna: Jest szósta.
Betsey: It mostly stays the same. Simply replace the {lang} for 4 o'clock. Say It's 6 o'clock.
