Using Polish to learn Polish is one of the fastest ways to improve your speaking and listening skills. Plus, it's an easy way to start a conversation.

Adding to Robert's question I was wondering if I can also use "Jak sie mówi po polsku water?" instead of "Jak powiedzieć po polsku water?" Or would that not work since mowi means speak and powiedzieć means say?

Cześć Robert Bielejeski

Thank you for posting!

"Jak powiedzieć po polsku" means "How do you say in Polish...." and you use it to ask about words you don't know.

On the other hand, "Czy mowię po polsku?" would mean "Am I speaking Polish?".

Hope that helps!

Cześć Chloe Q,

Thanks for your comment.

Możesz powiedzieć "płyn/żel do dezynfekcji rąk" or "płyn/żel antybakteryjny".

This is a very useful phrase nowadays.

Hi Joseph Craig,

Thank you for posting.

"Proszę powtórzyć za wolniej" is almost correct. This "za" is unnecessary.

Correct sentence would be "Proszę powtórzyć wolniej".

Sincerely,

Hanna

Is it grammatically correct to say "Proszę powtórzyć za wolniej" or what would be a better way to ask "Could you repeat it more slowly please?" (or similar).

Hello Jane,

Thank you for posting.

I am not sure what are you asking about.

We do not use verbs with "to" in Polish 😳

Could you please clarify?

Sincerely,

Hanna

When do you use “to” before the verb?
