Witaj Dave,

Przepraszam, że czekałeś na odpowiedź.

"Czy mówi pan po angielsku?" and "Czy pan mówi po angielsku?" have completely the same meaning. The word order does not matter in this phrase.

However, there could be a very slight nuance (for example in literature) - "Czy pan mówi po angielsku?" can emphasis the person "pan". It really depends on the context and even then we are asking about English skills after all, so you do not have to worry about it!

Pozdrawiam,

Hanna

Dzień dobry Hanna,

Nazywam się David Bilson. Jestem Anglikiem, i Mieszkam w Tidworth, pobliżu Andover, w południowej Anglii

Chciałbym nauczyć się języka polskiego.

Trochę mówię po polsku i rozumiem po polsku, niezbyt dobrze. Ale mówię po angielsku, Bardzo dobzre! ;-)

Lubię mówić po polsku, ale polski jest bardzo trudny i mam problemy z gramatyką!

Dziękuję.

Pozdrawiam Dave

Przepraszam, Mam pytanie.

Does the word order matter in the following phrase?

Czy mówi pan po angielsku?

I have been studying polish using various study materials and Pimsleur Polish uses the following word order for that phrase:

Czy pan mówi po angielsku?

Dziękuję za wszystko

Do zobaczenia
