| Michael: Marzena, I wanted to ask you about careers in Poland. |
| Marzena: What would you like to know? |
| Michael: I was wondering whether people stay with the same company their whole life, or whether Polish people can change jobs often. |
| Marzena: It’s pretty normal to change jobs often in Poland, actually. |
| Michael: Is it? Is it easy to get a new job? |
| Marzena: I think so, yes. |
| Michael: How long do people usually stay in the same job? |
| Marzena: I think about two years is average. |
| Michael: And then they move onto something else? |
| Marzena: Yes. Sometimes it’s a different job within the same company, and sometimes it’s a new company altogether. |

| Marzena: Być is the verb "to be" and is followed by wolnym. |
| Michael: This is an adjective that means "free" or "slow." You can use this phrase to say that you have free time. |
| Marzena: It changes depending on gender. Men can say jestem dzisiaj wolny |
| Michael: "I’m free today." |
| Marzena: And the same sentence for women is jestem dzisiaj wolna. |

| Marzena: This phrase is very useful in business meetings. |
| Michael: Can you give us an example using this phrase? |
| Marzena: Sure. For example, you can say... Muszę poznać szczegóły tego projektu. |
| Michael: ... which means "I need to know the details of this project." |

| Michael: That translates to "How may I help you?" Let’s hear a full example. |
| Marzena: ABC Languages, Marta Nowak. W czym mogę pomóc? |
| Michael: "ABC Languages, Marta Nowak. How may I help you?" How would the other person respond? |
| Marzena: With their name and company. Dzień dobry, Marek Kowalski z AstroFun. |
| Michael: "Good morning, Marek Kowalski from AstroFun." Then that person would say why they are calling. |
| Marzena: They might ask for a specific person, and this changes depending on whether the speaker is male or female, of course. |
| Michael: Let’s hear an example of a male asking the question. |
| Marzena: Czy mógłbym prosić and then the name. |
| Michael: "Can I speak to….?" And for a female speaker? |
| Marzena: Czy mogłabym prosić …. |
| Michael: If the person isn’t there, you might want to leave a message. |
| Marzena: Yes. You could say Proszę przekazać pani Kozłowskiej, że dzwoniłem. |
| Michael: "Let Mrs. Kozłowski know that I called, please." |
| Marzena: Or Czy mógłby pan przekazać pani Karolinie, że dzwoniłem? |
| Michael: "Could you please let Karolina know that I called?" How do you reply to these requests? |
| Marzena: Oczywiście, przekażę. |
| Michael: "Of course, I’ll pass him, or her, the message." |
| Marzena: Mam coś przekazać? |
| Michael: "Should I pass him, or her, a message?" |
| Marzena: Coś jeszcze? |
| Michael: "Something else?" |
