Eric: Here's the informal way to ask 'What are you doing?' in Polish.
Marzena: [Normal] Co robisz?
Eric: First is a word meaning 'what'
Marzena: [Normal] co [Slow] co
Eric: Last is the word meaning 'you are doing'
Marzena: [Normal] robisz [Slow] robisz
Eric: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the informal question meaning 'What are you doing?'
Marzena: [Slow] Co robisz? [Normal] Co robisz?
Eric: Now, imagine you're speaking to a stranger. Here's the formal way to ask a woman, 'What are you doing?'
Marzena: [Normal] Co pani robi?
Eric: First is a word meaning 'what'
Marzena: [Normal] co [Slow] co
Eric: Next is the word meaning 'ma'am, you’ to a woman
Marzena: [Normal] pani [Slow] pani
Eric: Last is the word meaning 'you are doing'
